A woman, who was pulled out of a crashed car as it burst into flames, has died on the way to hospital.
The woman was driving a sedan when she hit a truck in Katunga, near Cobram in northern Victoria just before 12.30pm on Friday.
Police believe the sedan was travelling north on Hendy Road when it struck the truck at the intersection of Sandmount Road.
The sedan burst into flames as the woman was pulled from the vehicle.
She was airlifted to hospital but died on the way.
The truck was forced off the road and came to rest in a nearby paddock.
Its male driver was treated for minor injuries.
Meanwhile, a driver has died in a separate crash after a car collided with a truck in Gippsland.
Police believe a Holden sedan was travelling south on Traralgon West Road in Maryvale when it collided with a truck at the intersection of Maryvale Road about 3.30pm on Friday.
The Holden’s driver died at the scene.
The truck driver was uninjured and stopped to assist.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
The deaths takes the road toll up to 214, eight more than at the same time last year.
